Eric L. Luetgers was born May 17, 1958, in Fairmont, Minn., to Ted and Shirley (Brown) Luetgers. He attended Fairmont High School and later the University of Minnesota-Waseca and the University of Minnesota, specializing in Landscape Design and Horticulture. Eric married Susan Kay Yanz on Sept. 19, 1981, in New Ulm, Minn. Eric and Susan lived in Chaska, Minn., until 1996, when they moved to Fairmont, Minn., to dedicate more time to his love of Timberlake Orchard. Eric's primary occupation was Timberlake Orchard (1981-present). He also dedicated his time over the years at the University of Minnesota Research Center in Excelsior, Minn., the Minnesota State Fair, the City of Plymouth Parks Department and Prairieland's Household Hazardous. He was looking forward to retiring in August. Eric loved to talk and socialize with others. He was a past 4-H member, club leader, council member supporter, past president and board member of the Minnesota Apple Growers, and past master, secretary and treasurer of the Fairmont Area Masons. Eric enjoyed sporting clays, hunting, fishing, cooking (especially stir-fry and pizza), bee keeping and sharing his love and knowledge of growing plants. He helped raise a variety of livestock. It was well known that if someone came down the road with an elephant, he would have raised one of them too. Eric always looked forward to vacationing with his family in Colorado and sharing the observations of changes in nature through the seasons.

Left to cherish Eric's memories are his lovely wife of 32 years, Susan; his parents, Ted and Shirley Luetgers; his two sons, Kristjon, and Justin and his fiancee Ashlynn Barta; his brother, Curt (Terri) Luetgers; his sister, Joy (Ralph) Omohundro; nieces, nephew, many other relatives, friends, and not to be forgotten his four-legged companions, Libbie and Oz.

Memorials in honor of Eric will be donated to the Masonic Scholarship Fund.
