Memorial Service for Bruce A. Striemer, age 62, of Ceylon, MN, will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont, MN, with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Bruce passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 15, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bruce Alan Striemer was born on August 6, 1958, in Fairmont, MN. He was the son of Floyd and Shirley (Johnson) Striemer. He attended Fairmont public schools and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1976.
Bruce worked for a lawn service and landscaping business in Duluth, MN, and later in Orlando, FL. More recently, he worked as a furniture delivery driver for Slumberland Furniture in Fairmont for over twenty-two years.
Bruce had a lifelong love of the outdoors. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling. Bruce liked spending time riding his motorcycle, watching a NASCAR race on TV, or caring for his dogs throughout the years, especially Asia. When the weather was nice, you could count on finding Bruce sitting around the campfire and grilling. He would stop every day to enjoy the sunrise and sunset by the lake and would often share those experiences with his friends through a Facebook post. Bruce most loved hanging out with his neighbors. He was always sure to help them out by snow blowing for them or mowing their yard if he noticed that they didn’t have time to get to it.
Left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Hailie Striemer; sister, Susan Walters; niece, Erin (Ryan) Farland; nephews, Mike Goodell, Brent Goodell, and Chris Goodell; great niece, Kayla; great nephew, Wyatt; and several cousins and many friends.
